How do i get this hose onto this fitting?

Both hose and fitting are 1 1/4”. It’s the fitting and hose I bought for filling my water tank in the cargo trailer. I can’t get this hose onto the fitting, any suggestions? Tricks?

Hmmmm. We know it can't handle as little as 212*F. You might try a little Vaseline on the inside of the hose, then apply judicious force and attempt to screw the fitting into the hose.

Use hot water but not boiling hot. Test it with the parts that are already damaged to see that they don't melt at the temperature you're trying.

Yes, a hair dryer can work too. But, again, don't get it too hot.

I will go along with Sharon, I use hot water from the sink. You can also reduce the size of the fitting with a bit of judicious sanding.

Only shove it on 1/2 way and clamp it.

Looks like a dual size fitting, 1.25" and 1.5"

Hi- I believe I had the same thing...I cut off the small part then filed and sanded down the large part til I could put it on with a little soapy water. The barbs were gone. But it's a no pressure situation and tested, no leak. It got kinda thin, but I think not -too- thin. Shouldn't be too much stress on it cause the hose is real flexible. I think I used a little shaving soap from a can on it, it's really slick. Good luck! Nodrog
