Water or Coke?

WATER OR COKE?

This is really an eye opener...Water or Coke? We all know that water is important but, I've never seen it written down like this before.

WATER

1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.

5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.

8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

And now for the properties of COKE:

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.

2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.

3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.

4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.

5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.

6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.

8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.

9. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

For Your Info:
1 The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.

2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.

3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is , would you like a coke or a glass of water?

Have A Great Day and Share It With Others

Do you still want a coke?

If you do a google search on any of the first 8 "points" about water, you'll find that none is based in real research. The term "Urban Legend" comes to mind. So have a coke and a smile. My grandpa always said if you drink water it'll rust your pipes.

My dad used to "tenderize" meat by soaking it in Coke.
I have seen the overnight soak trick -- it really does eat away the meat.

...I drink a lotta water...but most is flavored as coffee or tea...I quit drinking cokes(southern generic term) almost a year ago and have lost about 35#s since then...

...back in the late 70's my folks got into Amway and hadda display with baby food jars filled with various water based liquids and a small bolt....the Coke one "disappeared" the bolt in less than a week...

Two of my customers are soft drink manufacturers. They have these case crushers out back that they smash the liquid out of whole cases of bad product. The soda runs down the concrete into a drain. You should see the concrete! It has eaten about a six inch trench where it runs down, aggragate and all. I thought about posting a pic of this for you guys but I dont want any lawsuits.

I quit Pepsi's and all other soft drinks about 6 years ago and lost 15 lbs for good. That urband Lengend stuff posted here about water is a bunch of hooie, just ask your doctor or in my case my RN wife. Water is very good for you. Soda drinks adds to acid reflex. We went to the Good Guys Rod and Custom show at the Puyallup fair grounds today and saw about thousand cars and only two teardrop trailers.:relaxing: Danny

Danny, I hate to tell you this, but all those things coke does were dis-proven by the mythbusters..it was really gross putting a steak in coke, but it didn't disappear, it tenderized real good though...after a week.

Noob,

I have been saying the same thing ever since I saw the Mythbusters show.

Jim,

Don't forget, the aluminum foil and Coke did clean the rusty bumper, and that is the only one of those that makes sense.

I'm not the author I just passed it on. Believe what you want... it's your choice, I'm through with soft drinks & I quit smoking in 1973. I don't make my life choices based on the Mythbusters show   . Danny

If you're worried about Coke, you should see what some of the other things we ingest will do. Try soaking a chicken bone in vinegar for a few days.

I would view anything that popped up on the internet with great suspicion. The greatest source of dis-information the world has ever known, 'cept for this forum! ;)

When I was in the Navy, we had a Kool-Aid type drink that was also used to clean corrosion off brass (in a more concentrated form). I also remember a day I was walking by the galley and saw a box filled with cans of corn. The top of the box said "For military or farm animal use only".
