Where do you camp .If bears are near portable . When you cook where you sleep you sleep in your own grease

We love the flexibility of our potable Coleman,
Usually use it at a Campground picnic table when just overnighting.
We have a couple of table options if no picnic table is available, which we use
when setting up for more than one night.
We have never cooked in our Galley and value that counter space for food prep.

Thanks again for the replies! I see most of you prefer portable, but I'm going to post the question again for anyone popping in the thread. Anyone know how the drop-in stoves perform in windy conditions?

No doubt! I've done quite a bit of hiking, and had to prep for that concern. Here locally, black bears are slowly migrating more into the area, but to answer your question, it's not a huge concern at this point.

If you have a drop-in stove in the galley, most likely, it would be protected at the back by the cabin, on the sides by the galley sides, and even a little by the hatch. If you have a drop-in stove on a slide out, it depends on how you build around it. For some drop-ins, you can get a panel that sits on top of it to provide extra counter space and then lifts when you wish to use the burners. That would give you some protection on a slide-out.
