Just curious... What are you using to seal the door? Because from the pic's I can't see

The dark outline you see in the first picture...

Ok, I see. So how does it do at 60mph in a rainstorm?

No problem.

Thanks for all the feed back.

I have a plan for the seal. I will share shortly.

As for the Hinges.... Those are just temp. My friend and I forged hinges from car leaf springs. They will easily handle the weight of the door.

I was most pleased to add some forging to this project, it is one of my new passions.

Yes.... your eye ball is most accurate: it is approx 40" in diameter. My son was insistent on a Round Hobbit door. But I will re-evaluate the getting in and out.

Close.... It will be 4,5 feet high and 9 feet long. I plan to have a very small pantry.

i looked around the net all have longer hinges and many had a support shaft or pin joining both hinges. All them had a extra thinkness around the door to hold it when closed.

You could have a round door going over a rounded square opening

many had additional locks to keep it closed. Luck up round boat door and go to images.

Rest of design looks good.
