Getting the frame back together this morning.

It is now 60" wide and still 10' long.
Next up next week is to extend axle and insert axle frame rails and finish up the welding.
Projected finish date is May 2020 or sooner. We are Geocachers and there is an event in Colby, KS we want to go to. That'd be a good distance test 3hrs there.

Got a little done this morning while it was nice out.
Got the top half welded and got the springs aligned and tacked in. Still have to cut and fit two more cross pieces. Then flip the whole thing over and weld bottom side.

Glad the frame is coming together well, because the carnage you did in an hour was a pretty good shock

I'm pretty happy everything went back right where it should have. I was kinda worried about twisting or stress on the parts. It all worked out well.

Got some more done yesterday it was nice out so I worked on it all day. Started by aligning and surveying the axle situation. Then putting the last two rails in.
Then I got the rest of the frame welded up and started painting.
I also cut out old hitch as it was bent a little bit. So I decided to extend the new one out a foot also. Hopefully I won't hit my elbow on the jack now when I hook up to vehicle. Not sure why I did but every time never failed I'd hit my elbow on that.

Finally got the two axle halves nestled in there new home. I went with a piece of square tubing for my splice sleeve. It overlaps each side by 16" and will be plenty strong once welded up. I had to hunt down new u bolts for the axles yesterday also as I had to cut the old rusty ones. If anyone is looking for new ones I'd start your search at Napa. They were the only ones in town that had the size I needed and they had a good variety of sizes.

Got the axle welded and in and the alignment look pretty good. It should be exactly the same as it was before. Everything on the frame I believe is now done except the jack I need to bolt back on. Next up will be floor and then I need to figure out which way I want to build walls.

That picture looks weird like the frame is all twisted. I assure you it is not.

We had the same problem with ours when we upgraded the springs. We needed longer U-bolts and had a tough time finding matching sets. We spent an entire Saturday going store to store.

Nice work, looks great. If it's not what you want, make it what you want. Good job.

Making a shopping list for tomorrow and now I'm stuck. I can't find any plywood sheets in a 5' width anywhere. The floor not such a big deal to splice a few pieces cause it'll all be glued down to the foam and framing. But the ceiling I could splice like 3 sheets together but would it bend ok?
Then the next concern is wall construction. Leaning towards 3/4" ply with cutouts for insulation. Not quite sure what to do here yet.
This is how I'm planning on doing the floor and my thinking on the ceiling which may need more than 3 sections. Both of which will be 1/4" ply

Out in the last few hours of light trying to come up with a shape for a template. I found a couple I liked and merged them together.
Looks pretty good I suppose.
Well back to reading. Going shopping the morning for some materials.
Also I am aware I laid it out backwards.

Your design was one I was closest trying to replicate. I like the curves of the back and the straight front.
