Great idea about the Propex Heater location!
I had planned to mount mine under the deck and run just the ducts up behind the cooler, but your idea makes more sense... No need to worry about damage from the road. Will you be mounting it sideways on the bulkhead?

It will be flat on the floor behind the cooler. The intake/exhaust lines go straight down through the floor. It looks a little lonely in this photo:



I got the headliner installed today. The spars got ripped and the wiring dado cut in each. And then the first two spars.

I got the spars on today.

The solar panel will be attached with screws through six grommets. Thus it drove the spar spacing up past the fan opening. To make sure I'll have plenty of room between it and the fan, I de-centered the fan's opening an inch. Will the missus notice?



I've been squirming over how clean the solar cable installation is going to look. But after today, I'm happy. I'll have about 3" runs to 90º cable glands and then down and dirty into a hidden slot between my hatch spar and bulkhead.

My Propex is mounted the same way, I think I had it in when we saw you but not all the way hooked up. It is all the way hooked up now. I have been wanting to try it out but when its 115 degrees, the thermostat doesn't want to work. We had one morning where the temp was mid 40's and I was joking with Meg that is was cold and I turned on the heater. I was surprised the it fired up. I let it run a bit to how loud it is and how fast it heated the inside. I can tell you Meg is very happy with it.

And here I am trying to figure out how to take apart the Renogy plugs so that I could reuse them I've got to mount my panel athwart-ship instead of fore/aft like yours. Kinda wish they'd made both cables long. I've got some beefy butt connectors and heat shrink if I can't get the plugs apart in a way that they can go back together.

I just picked up a couple of the model 1007100 for passing my solar cables through the roof. It looks like it'll stick up about 1/2" or so from the roof but it's a pretty flush mount overall. And they come with a snazzy stainless cover. I walked past them three or four times this morning at my local boat supply shop looking for the stuffing tubes like you've pictured before I realized what I was looking at.

Nope. It's not.

I just ordered two of them. These will be lower key and I won't have to get a nut on from the bottom. Maybe even a better seal too.
