He did better then the AT&T internet installer , at least he made it to the appointment. The internet installer has been a no so for 3 days ( so far ) ! I called this morning and canceled it all "F" em' ! The landlady has decided to board horses in with my tiny's and so it seems I will be stomping thru horse sh** and such. Right now I am lower than a snakes belly. I really need to just sell all my junk and take the summer off and wander.

From my experience as a farm boy, where there is manure, there will be flies galore to pester you.

Bob, I'm with you about hitting the road! I sold my build last year and since I read your last post, I have been looking my little trailer over- just how fast and small can I make a Gyspy vardo camper so I can hit the road? I would go smaller this time- maybe 750 lbs.

I picked up a fold up iron cabinet this weekend at a yard sale for $5.00. I am not at all sure why but it was too good of a deal to pass up. It is similar to this one but only one door with a what not shelf on the left and the iron behind a single door on the right. I will remove the fold out iron and use the cabinet by adding more shelves where the board is removed. My question is what to store in it as it is only about 3 inches deep?

I'M BACK !

After 3 weeks of password hell I finally got the mess behind me ( I hope)

Any way after two days of trying to move the depot up tight to the platform we finally figured out a plan that worked. The little 8n wouldn't keep the nose on the ground and the 6 cylinder pickup didn't have enough poop to move it up an incline either. I finally devised a plan a very slow plan but it worked. We chained thru the rear cross member on the frame and with a chain hoist and the aid of a good stout walnut tree we pulled the tiny about 12 feet. We had to devise a way to keep the jack stinger from digging into the ground though. With a little head scratching I placed 2 long skinny sheets of zip panel fiberglass face to fiberglass face with a liberal coating of vegetable oil between and one slid on the other. I am not quite happy where it is at yet but we now know how to move it safely.

Found of home for the iron cabinet above also. I had a small LCD TV that just fits in if it is turned on it's side. I am going to mount it at the foot of the shelf bed

I now have two different computer sources to work from and every time I change from one to the other the password disappears. I tried for 2 weeks to change back to my old standby and each time I shifted computers it kicked me off. I got tired of putting in that 30 digit alphabet soup password they give me each time I had to reapply. I think I have it fixed but computer challenged old farts some times have troubles.

Two weekends and a lot of chain fall winching but the depot has been moved 8 feet sideways and 20 feet back and is finally nestled in tight to the "platform" Hope to have some good pictures today. Happy birthday to me ! It is leveled and blocked and all the doors now latch and swing properly. Time to start on the outside wood stove building. It will be camouflaged to look like a big track signal box with the railroad equipment box silver finish and a few railroad type insignias and a ID number of sorts. It will be 6 x6 and house the monster wood burner that has been in storage for over a decade. We went by a excavation site Saturday where a new sub division is going in and in the dumpster were some damaged and miss cut 12 an 14 inch drainage pipe. We were able to salvage about 70 feet of it. This will be the air tubes to deliver the warm air from the stove building to the two tiny houses. They will be housed in a small dog house sized wood frame that will extend to both houses. It will be sheathed with insulated zip panel to help retain the heat on it's way to the heated spaces. The building will be built on the 2 monster oak skids that the cement board ,we were given two weeks ago, was originally stacked on. The less desirable cement board will comprise the building with an inner and and outer sheathing of cement board over a flame treated 2x4 frame. I have an all steel and glass door for the entrance into the building to feed the firebox. The skid floor will also be flame protected with 2 plys of the 3/8 inch cement board..
Getting ready to be warm and cozy with little to no cost. I also gave notice at work and 10/1/19 will be my 1st day of retirement exactly 2 years after I started the Depot build. God where did the time go ????

Congratulations on both achievements, but...

* You've mentioned some dates and numbers that reminded me of coincidental similarities to my trailer build and retirement: I gave my notice and tried to retire starting on 10/1/15 (after I had already turned 65), which was exactly 4 years after I started my TTT build, which began on 10/1 (of 2011), and finished -before the continual modification cycle began- in 2 years.

* But, though I had their promise to let me retire on 10/1, after I submitted the paperwork with their signatures attached (dept. head, production VP, and HR rep) in July, my employers continually put me off for three long months, and I wasn't allowed to leave until 1/1/16. They a) lost the paperwork, b) begged me to stay until after the heavy season, c) promised me more help, d) asked me to re-train the existing help, e) lost the paperwork again...you get the general idea. Hope you have better luck reaching your retirement date!

Well the front door now has a 32 sq ft front porch. I have added a temporary decking of zip panel over the frame work and heading to get the fence post sealer to treat the bones then add some 5/4 deck boards for the top. It all sets on the tongue "A" frame with two outboard piers making it a lift off addition in case of a move. I'll get some pics soon but heading out of town for a few at daybreak.

At least the door will be usable now and just a 4" step up off of the Platform trailer......

Nights are starting to cool and it is getting dark earlier. All warning signs that winter is creeping up on us so I had my crack crew here yesterday and now have the 6x6 wood stove's out building completely framed. It has all the cement board installed on the exterior and the interior cement board wall lining has a few sheets installed as well. From a pile of salvaged wood and free cement board to a standing building in 5 hours. I cut all the parts and laid out the placement of the studs on the wall plates. I also built the trusses while my crew started to assemble the walls and erect the building. We even used the two 4x8 oak pallets that the cement board was on as the foundation and placed a double layer of the cement board on top of them as a fireproof flooring. Two guys 5 hours was $112.00 well spent. One more 5 hour day and we can be ready for a nice warm fire. Pictures soon.........
