A rough two weeks.

Things that don't fit anywhere else...

A rough two weeks.

As some of you may have seen in another thread my dad hadn't been doing well. I'm afraid he lost his two year battle with prostate cancer two weeks ago. Life since then has been a bit of a blurr. Him and my mom had just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary a month or so ago. Needless to say she is a bit of a basket case right now. She is doing better every day though and is an inspiration to the rest of us. Thanks for letting me share.

Wow...I'm really sorry, Scott. I don't know the other thread you're referring to, or I would have tried to offer some support a lot earlier.

Again, I offer you and your mom all of the positive energy I can. Of course, I don't know her at all, but I do know that from your perspective, you miss your daddy.

And regardless of age, they're still our daddies.
Here we go again!

...Scott, good thoughts, condolences and prayers go to your Mom and family from Marlene and I...having lost my Dad after a multi year battle with ALS, I know how hard it is...but it does get better and then the fondness of memories will hold you in a nice warm place........

Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm sure things are difficult right now. Couldn't be any different, honestly. Just hang in there.

Scott,

For you and your father, and for all those who have made the final journey...

Today, I carried my father to his grave.

As a little one, my father carried me on his shoulder.
He carried me to bed.
He carried me because he cared.

As the tables turned, I carried him to bed.
I carried him because he cared.

Today, I walked with my father on our last journey together.
Today, I carried my father to his grave.
Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...
