Heard that North America is heading for a record heat wave around now. Stay cool everybody and remember to keep the fluids up. Suspend all work until it passess, you have my permission. :lol:

We apparently have a reprieve here in MI. I wonder if the heat is going to come back? I have a teardrop to build... :cry:

BTW, I made a decision today, to put a roof top AC on the next teardrop... Gee, that'll make the design soooooooooooo easy! :lol:

hi all HOT here in good missouri it hit 100+ the last two days and the weather man said it will do it again thursday but for the weekend only in the80s get the tear ready to i will be along the river :Flippin Burger:

They said here it was going to be 109* on friday, but now tomorrow and Friday should be about 107-109* . Today we hit 106*

GOD AWFUL HOT!!!!

Thanks for the permission, Paul. I'm not working on the Jewel Box this week, also not mowing, or cleaning up the yard, or trimming bushes, or sitting on the porch, and not even :relaxing:

I've been in Dallas for the last couple days for business. 107 is HOT. Boy I'm glad to be back in this 95 weather. :sweaty:

Without fear of inciting a Global Warming debate, I have a question. If the temp in the USA and in England are at record levels (which I need to confirm), then where are the "cold spots"? :thinking:

The reason I ask is this: if the average temp has only increased by a few degrees, over the past years, then where are the opposite extremes from the local new stories of record warmth?

This brings to mind my trip to Fort Smith AR (yesterday and today). It was 104 F in Fort Smith and it felt hot. When I returned to indiana it was only a measly 89F but it felt miserable because of the 84% humidity level.

Does anyone know of a record level "misery index?" :thinking:

Mad Jack , or anyone from the "misery states", might want to chime in here.

I needed that. Only 103 here but humidity started out at 67%. No breeze at all and no fan in the garage. Went out 3 times to work. Got too hot all three times. Got the window over framed though. :oops:

Still 89* and 52 % humidity.

Julie and all South and West of here, yall take care. It really is hotter there.

Heck everyone take extra care. 79 for a high Sat. :applause:

...we have been at 98 to 104 for the past week...the humidity has been around 80% IN THE AFTERNOON...this adds 5 to 7 drgrees to the heat (misery) index...I don't know what the record is(heat index) but when I got married on July 15, 2000(bachelor of 46 yrs), it was 107 with a heat index of 117...and this was an outdoor wedding...I am still catching flack from my friends about that......

Think it was only around 102* here today :fan:

. Y'all note my 'breeze box' suspended just above & behind my TD. I rescued a 20" box fan from the scrap heap, cleaned it up a little, hung it up there, set the switch on "HI" & plugged 'er in

. It ain't like sittin' under the AC but it & all the greenery around here helps keep temps sorta tolerable 'long as I take a break for at tall glass of water or lemon tea occasionally :thumbsup:

I've been working in Greenvile TX the past two weeks. New substation, "supervising" contractor testing new equipment, outside, and the yard is white gravel.

The testers were using a "certified" thermometor to calibrate the temp gauges on the transformer yesterday. The official temp was only 106, I understand that the official temp is measured three feet above the ground over grass in the shade. The temp three feet off the ground over white gravel in the sun was 117 degrees acording to the high tech measureing device they were using.

Just checked, the official temp here 10:55pm is a much cooler 92.2 degrees, some relief.

If you're looking for somewhere cool, without the frigidity factor of snow etc, we woke up to 2C (about 36F) this morning. So whoever was looking for the other end of the scale, I think I've found it :lol:

Larry,I have to admit that I love the hot weather :shock:

As for a road trip. I wish---- This past week has had suspension failures on the bobcat trailer, staff off sick, people not paying their accounts, office phone down for four days etc...etc...etc. Who says being self employed is easy :lol:
