Getting Rid Of the Buckets!!!

We have been using the little square container bucket thingies for our clothes. The problem is they look tacky, I couldn't find the color I wanted, one set started to fall apart and the ones I have now are just small. So I got my leftover plywood and made some cupboards. My Question...How do I keep them from flying open while we are on the road? I've seen different gadgets. But I am curious If I might be passing up something. Any suggestions?

In the past, I've used pins to lock my drawers. They do work.



On this last build, I used locking latches. I like them a lot.

These were more expensive as they were stainless steel, but they work well when enough in place. The inspiration came from a "break" at work & a trip to the bathroom stall. Was pondering the issue when it hit me!

Wanted something positive in the galley to keep things from popping open on the road & off, 100% good for that part of it. They work flawlessly, unless the trailer is upside-down, then all bets are off. A drop-in pin would work just as well, but have a couple of spares handy in case you lose one at night...

I use soft closing drawer guides and don't need any catches as the self close feature keeps them closed.
You'll need a drawer pull/handle to open them. Danny

In our race truck, the shop cabinets all had the push locks like Tony has. My original plan was to use those. Ended up, my design went in another direction. As someone else said, I used the soft close slides for all my drawers.



They have a spring that naturally keeps them closed.



For the doors, I found super heavy duty, 70lb magnets.





Several thousand miles later, everything has stayed nice and secure.

I went with something similar to noseoils post. I had leftover plywood to work with. Worked great! Thank you for all the ideas.

I am really hoping Atomic77 sees this, I need to know how he set up his a/c in the pic???

I would post more pics, but for some odd reason I am not able to on this pc, and the app on my tablet all of a sudden won't let me either. But, the little cabinets came out great. Not perfect. They are functional. I kinda had to work around what the original owner/builder did. As soon as I am able to, I will post some pics.

I need to know how that a/c was done? How big is the spot it sits in? Does it overheat? Is there a vent behind it? I've been wanting to do this, but afraid of it overheating.
