I WANT TO BUY A TEARDROP TRAILER

Have a teardrop or a trailer for sale? Need one? Post here...

Postby Gage » Fri Aug 12, 2005 10:21 pm

Aw, now I see. I just don't get it thought. I wander if they even have one built yet. All thier pictures look to be of a 5' wide. You would think they would at least make the cabin 9' long with it 6' wide instead of only 8'. What were there engineers thinking.

Have a good day,

Anyways_
If your going to be towing the teardrop with a Subaru Wagon, you won't want anything wider than 4 feet and no longer than about 9 feet. A Subar should only tow 1500lbs max.

[b][i][color=darkblue]That's my 2 cents, have a good day.

According to Subaru's website, the 2005 Outback wagon has a towing capacity of 2700 lbs. I'll be towing my TD (if I ever finish it) with a '04 Outback. It is 5' wide by 8' long. Jim

Gage, someone here posted some pics of the 6' wide tears a few months back, they were on the back of a transport truck. Sorry but I don't remember who that was.

Donna,

Have you found what you are looking for yet? Just completed my first custom woody's and had a great maiden voyage. She is for sale as I am now working on the next one. The mattress size is 56 1/2" X 76" (queen size linens fit perfectly). The overall dimensions are appx 5' X 9'. Extras include AC, Refrig, TV w/built-in DVD. The galley is extremely functional and stores a coleman 2 burner gas stove and a gas grill in the lower cabinets. If you are interested in seeing more, check out my personal album. I am located in the Pocono Mtns of PA and will deliver.

I'll jump on the bandwagon!!
I've built three totally wood Tears. All are 5-footers, and have a 53-54-inch by 80-inch bed.
The first is selling on E-bay..Reserve is met, The second, a Lil'Diner, went to Mike, the designer. The third is ours, also a 'Diner, and a keeper!!
All Tears are built on a sturdy steel frame, all details are done to your specs, and I'm sure you will be happy!
The shop is empty!! I'm gonna build one or more over this winter. One could be yours! ;) ;)
Check out my website, and if you want to check out the possibilities, just ask.

Here a pic of our Fat Shadow 5 x 10 behind our 2005 Subaru.
Its made by Hunter Outdoor Products in Idaho
http://www.mrglobal.com/teardrop.html
Flat 4 Subarus are rated for 2700 pounds with trailer brakes.
I wouldn't go heavier than what we have tho'. It weighs just over 1300# loaded for our trip to the IRG.

did you notice the a/c unit sticking out the side?

I saw this trailer and thought it was nice but wasnt crazy about the location of the a/c unit.
Of course in Florida you almost gotta have it.

nice trailer though.......real wide inside.
