I like Fantastic vent fans, but have great things about the MaxxAir vent fans. On my teardrop trailer I had a Fantastic vent fan, and I have Fantastic vent fan on my travel trailer.

I feel your pain. I had the same hail situation and damage on my cheapo vent in my travel trailer. (It has a Fantastic vent fan in the rear and a cheapo vent in the front.)

Fantastic and MaxxAir both make vent covers that go over and around the vent. They allow you to open your vent fan in the rain. These covers have much thicker plastic than the vent fan tops.

I think I’ll be ordering one today, I did note online the larger cover that allows the vent to be open in any weather. I like that idea

Put a new cover on. Figured I didn’t have power wire for the fan so didn’t bother $14 bucks

Well. It much progress on the trailer side, Put the project on pause to build a new office for the construction company, office space, conference room, individual offices for owner’s and estimators, just in time to slow down for the season.

Finished out the RV pad this weekend





We put 15 ton in the RV pad and the stupid mow strip.

Crushed 3/4 minus packed down pretty good and becomes a solid surface

Get the metal roof vent lid. It stronger and sits 2"lower on overall height.
I painted mine white to reflect the heat.

So I have two bids for steel for the bed frame, $150 bucks for 60’ of 3x1 14 gauge steel square stock

Anyone think that will be to thin for a king size mattress with a cable hoists?

Slow progress. Quit my job for some family improvement and funds are much more strict.

But I have frame layout, I have the design figured out. Loved the drill powered idea and going to run similar to that.

With some inspiration from flboy and Brian’s builds I started on my bed frame today. To hold the king size beds and raise it to the ceiling.

I got the 1x3 tube delivered which made 20’ sticks oh so much less of a hassle.

45 degree cut corners, three metal middle braces welded together creates the rough frame.

On order is the pulleys and need to decide on pillow blocks and cable direction







I got the pulleys coming in the mail, need to source some scrap 2 angle iron to hold those, also need to lengthen the drive axle I picked up to roll and drive the cable up with.

Progress is progress.

Rough drawing


If you run two sets of pulleys or you put two sets of guides in the unistrut it should keep the bed from pulling the drive side of the bed up first

I tried pulling to a fixed point in a similar way, but from the bottom and then bed did not go up evenly at all although I had it all worked out in my head to work. If it is not too hard, I'd say try it... if it does not work, you can revise it. It was take 2 before I got mine to lift evenly, but I am now pulling up evenly on all four corners of the bed at the same time.
