Flush mounted Etrack on the floor

Does anyone have Etrack that is flush mounted on the floor? I'm really intrigued by this idea as it's convenient but also out of the way. I'm using this photo as a plan on how to do it.


What I don't know if what sort of problems arrise by doing this sort of flush mount? Is it a royal pain to live with?

The first thing that comes to mind is it being a dirt/trash trap which may be the reason I only ever see the cup rings on the floor, my second thought is I have a box truck with e-track on the walls, you have to tip the couplers/clips to get them into the track do if they were flush? Might not be enough clearance to get the hooks in.

Flush is how I would go. Also look at L-track

Another option is uni-strut. It gives you mounting option that the other tracking options do not. You are limited to using flat bolt D rings to secure items with if your using tie down straps.

If you look in my van build out thread. My van is fitted with uni-srut. All the build out is anchored to it for mounting as much as possible.

i have used BED BOLTS in the floors of trailers for quite a few years

they are designed to fit between the ribs in the floor of a pick up so their tops will clear anything loaded on the floor

i simply pull(wrench 'em down) flush w/ the plywood/plank surface for easy loading when knot in use

they come w/ plastique plugs for the hole when knot in use

w/ the internal threads being 3/8" you can bolt anything you wish to them

i run 4ea down each side and the center of a 12' trailer

A friends trailer had the flush e track on the floor. no issues getting the clips in and out, as long as there is nothing in the track. That's his biggest issue with it. Dirt, rocks, sand gets trapped in there and then you can't use it. He had to pull it up several times as rocks like to go in. but won't vacuum back out. He finally gave up and installed E track on the walls.

I have vertical E track at each wall stud. I went that route for my bed system. Gives me lots of options for tie downs too.
