My 100% garage built teardrop

Postby ricky herbold » Sun Jul 05, 2020 12:12 pm

Well, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased an awning for the trailer. Now the design could begin. I wanted the awning to be as low profile as possible, so I designed it to fold down for travel and fold up to gain extra headroom when opened up. I’m super happy with how it turned out.

So next was to take it all back off and finish the fabrication and get it coated.

I finally received the wall kit for the awning. Couldn’t be happier. So much room inside. Image

Well, a couple weeks back, we were able to get the trailer out again for the 25 hours of frog hollow mountain bike race just outside hurricane UT. The weather did not cooperate with the race. It was raining, hailing, and even a little snow along with wind gusts around 60mph. The awning along with the walls stood strong and saved us by giving us a place to hide from the weather. The race was eventually cancelled about half way thru the event. Probably for the better. We will be back next year for sure!
