I have always been impressed with your Pocket Knife build, and my interest in it was rekindled by your comments in the “Folding Foamie Camper a la Casita or Esterel in the Works” thread. I’m intrigued by the folding aspects, which are clever and quite ambitious! Although your pictures are very helpful, I am a bit uncertain about a few aspects of how it operates. You may have to read this several times for it to make sense (especially if I mis-judged how things are built)...
Your galley hatch has two panels, but the angle between them (in the closed hatch position) depends on whether the main body is up or down. This suggests the joint between the two panels is hinged, but the photo does not show any. Further, in your photo of the opened hatch, only the upper panel appears to be supported by the vee struts. If so, (and the panels are joined with a hinge) it seems the lower panel would “dangle” (hang down and freely swing) unless the hinge has rotation limits. Finally, it seems you would want to unlatch the lower lip of the hatch from the base before attempting to raise the main body. Maybe I am reading the pictures all wrong, so please correct me as needed. Could you add some words/pictures??
