General Discussion about almost anything Teardrop or camping related

A little thicker Arne. I split a 2X4, 12" OC. 1 layer of Masonite and an interior piece of 1/4 Laun glued & screwed. All covered with a rug headliner.

Coop
I did get ripple in the Filon. Then I took out my roller and while it was parked up against the house I braced myself against house where I could get some real pressure on the Filon. That was a week ago. Its been in the 90+ degree heat/sun with no ripples and real flat. I remember with Formica, ya really have to lean on it.

But I am very happy with the out come.

What really concerned me was I usually spray the contact cement. But I had to do it outside in the wind, so I rolled it on. 3 coats on the wood, 2 on the Filon.

Hey, see ya Friday.

Fantastic job Len. If I ever build another trailer, it will be something like yours with a regular bathroom.

Where did you find that suicide door? All of the ones I saw (and bought) have the hinge in front. Make sure you have it locked securely when on the road. If it comes open, it may get damaged by the wind.

Do you have a link for those graphics? I haven't seen that particular design, and like it.

Sometimes I pretend to be normal. But, that gets boring...so I go back to being me.

How are ya Dale?
My origional thought on the door opening backwards was I was going to make the stove in the kitchen roll out on the front side making an outside stove by only using 1 stove. So the door could not cover the front. I picked it up on ebay. and asked for that hand.

The graphics link is;

You can customize them any way you want.

On the subject of suicide doors, while looking for photos to make the Scotty Hi-Lander profile from, I found that all the Scotties had suicide doors, for at least a ten year period.

I think our concern about suicide doors is appropriate for cars, where they can be opened on the move, but is probably entirely misplaced on a trailer.

Weekend #6, not necessarily in a row. Well I picked the hottest weekend of the year to mess with fiberglass, glue on a ceiling and flying sawdust.

Thankfully my pool was close.

Week #7. Things are really at a snails pace now. Vacations, weekend visits, your Brothers having a picnic and he needs help, and on & on. I've only worked on it 1 day in almost the last month.

But since I put the wings on it I think its kind of official.

Couldn't wait to post these. I decided against "Swoopy/Hi Tech" Graphics. From the start I knew, and never tried for a dead on copy. Instead I was going for a "If the company started to remake this trailer today...this is what it would look like" look. One of the things that make the look of the old trailer was the shape, the wings and the "Z" stripe.

KEWELLLLL!

Len, you really ARE Da Man!!!!!!

Like your new trailer. :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:
Chris :D

The tension between what is good enough and what is beyond that creates the space for character to become our work.

You cannot beat that 'Z' graphic for style - it's cooler than Jack Flash!
