E-Z to make 'Garbage' bag holder

Postby gudmund » Mon Apr 26, 2021 11:29 am

buy one 'Inter Design' brand - 'over cabinet bag holder bracket' 164931 cut the 'over' cabinet door flange off and using a short piece of 164558 with a couple pop-rivets attach it to the flange face and 'wah-laa' = a garbage bag holder that can be hung on the side of the trailer anywhere there is a strip of 164558 for mounting a side-table. I have numerus 'short' (3inch long) pieces of this material mounted in different other area's of my trailer for hanging my garbage bags holders (my tongue box - edge of one of my side table, like on the edge of one just outside the trailer door - edge of folding camp chair side table, etc) 163789 (PS, I have made over 75+++ of these over the years!!! and = I'm "NOT" making any more of them!!!......... :x = and yes, I have my own "private" stash of them saved up hidden away for what's left of my future and the 'future' of ?'free'? shopping bags  ) Take care.........

PS total estimated $$$, the bracket can be purchased for around $10 and the mounting sidetable strip for $10-15 for the 30inch long set (but if you already some "extra-left over" there is only need for a 3-4inch long of a misc. 'corresponding' piece of extra for the mounting of it to an existing side table mount already on your trailer.)

Good idea, I like the way the bag is open.

Years ago my wife came up with this simple cleat idea for the same purpose.
We just loop the bag handles over the cleat.

The bag doesn't stay open as well but it works for us.
The cleat also comes in handy to lash the canopy down where there's only black top to set it up.

We were camped in a KOA campground in Alamosa several years ago and I forgot the trash bag looped on the latch for the hatch when we went to bed. It was the end of the season and we were the only people there. I heard a funny noise, opened the door and there was a coyote rooting through our trash bag. Now I always throw the trash bag in the back of the truck when I go to bed.

heard something claw into one of the 'hanging' garbage bags one nite so I shook the trailer from in bed and whatever it was? it took off into the nite. The next morning, the young kid from the neighboring RV was out looking for something and when I asked what? he said their kitty cat, to which I turned looking at the hanging garbage bag and the obvious kitty paw/claw marks were clearly visible. Yes, I helped look, but for over 2 days the cat was not to be found (and yes they stayed over an extra day looking telling me this was not the first time the cat had gone missing when traveling) the cat eventually came out from under one of the other parked trailers and they loaded up and went home to Montana. :applause:
