flboy, Howdy;

May not need to cut through the floor. I was thinking along the lines of a register near the ceiling
to act as a return air inlet like what is done for furnaces only up higher for the a/c. That way you
can recirculate the air. Or put it near the floor to keep the cabinet heat from seeping into the CT.
Just a stray idea, your trailer, your choice.

Well, the AC seems to be working well. I will be paneling the walls and installing a stereo and power monitors in the space above the AC and on the other side will be breakersand transfer switching. Below I will be cutting out for an inside shelf. The bottom 1/3 will be batteries and DC converter, etc..

Now to start on framing bed/couch platform. Going to work from back towards the front this time.

Working in the Air Conditioning! Figuring out this sofa bed and how I will bolt it down. I may weld a platform, but I made this for now to get an idea what to do. Tons of storage underneath with easy access. I will build a facade to cover it and use magnets to hold it in place. A simple tug to remove the panel to get at things below.

I think next up is to get all the paneling back up and get everything primed and sealed on the walls and ceiling , then I can start building out the front end and then cabinets along the sides above the windows. I wanted the AC in first to start work.

I am not sure what to finish the wood with, but I bought some paintable vinyl wallpaper that will cover the plywood from ceiling down to 2 ft. above the floor. It has a rough skip trowel look to it and will be cleanable.

I will try a small piece first and I don't like it, I will abandon the idea and buy some shiplap or the likes. There really will not be alot of exposed wall space when the trailer is built out.

My plan is to use aluminum or PVC tread plate as a kick plate all the way around the inside up to 2ft. like I had Anvil do on the outside trim. The door side will have a 6ft run up Etrac like my 7*18 does.

Love the video. Simple and works!
What are you going to do to keep that ac door closed? What type of latch system?

Hi BigDave. What door you referring to? The barn door on back of trailer? If so, it has its own latch bar that holds them shut.

The door the Ac vent pulls through. I wasn’t sure if it was like my job trailer that you have to use one door to hold the other door closed is all.

Side by side.. the extra 6ft plus 2ft V and additional 1ft in height on my 7*18 Vnose really looks bigger when side by side with the 6*12 Flatnose. Excited to get the 6*12 finished however. It will have all the same comforts/amenities.. just in a smaller package that I can hopefully get to more remote places in.

Had to move work in progress around to the back yard and get out of the driveway. My son and his family will be here tonight so I will be taking a break from the build for a week while they visit. I may sneak a few small jobs in while they are here. We'll see. Thinking about trying to get the solar panels up on the roof. Just have to weld some brackets.

I didn't like the Paintable Wallpaper so I returned it. It didn't look good to me when actually saw it. Also had some concerns about it adhering with humidity over the long term. In any case, I bought 1/8" Luan to cover my plywood since I had to cut so many holes in it. I will paint the Luan white, but 24 inches up from the floor will be rubber black diamond plate flooring material and I will transition from the diamond plate to Luan with eTrac at 24" . I think that will look nice and be durable and it continues the look of the exterior.

flboy, Howdy;

I'm thinkin' Big Dave was thinkin' along the lines of some sort of latch like in the link below.
https://www.shed-supply.com/products/spring-latch
There are several 'types' and if you have a Tractor supply near by I'm sure you'll find what
ya need. The above is just for ref. That way you can keep the other door open if needed
and the a/c 's door closed.

Thanks Hank. I actually already bought those for the doors and another hasp for the right door.. Main reason is so I can l can lock the bar open and then lock from inside. I always want two ways to egress. Just need to install them.

I installed them on my 7*18 CTC also.
