I’ve had a busy couple of days. After insulating my walls, I clad the inside with pallet wood.
I then found the best spot for my “icebox” it is actually a Coleman cooler that functions as an icebox.
Then I got ambitious as I was sitting in the camper enjoying the cool breeze on my legs and positioned two of my cabinets. The cabinet closest to the door I see my “everything” box that carries my essentials for camping (you know, plate, cup, spoon, humidor, spices, flask, etc.). The skinnier box is one that I just picked up. It will cover my air conditioner which will protrude about 6” out right over the drivers side fender.
Finally after spending a couple of days working on the inside, I fleshed out my bed/ upper floor concept. I am going to go with a tri fold sofa bed, similar to the sofa bed that Vistabule uses. I really like sitting in the front of the camper relaxing after building all day and dangling my feet. Having a 5’ sofa folded during the day, leaving the 5’ standing room opening, seems to be just right. The more I thought about the construction, if I build it right and out of treated lumber, I’ll have a solid “floor” that covers the opening at night and while driving (completely weathertight and secured of course). Then I would just need a removable section in front of my icebox.
