here's a couple of shots i took tonight at the start of the ausable river marathon. the race starts with a four block run to the river then 120 miles of paddling down river. should be finished sometime after noon sunday.

who says you're too old? Al Widing Sr. 81 years old.

the race is over now, the leaders made it in 14 hrs and 33 min and 50 sec., almost 15 minutes ahead of the second place team. Al came in 29th out of 64 teams, of that 6 teams dropped out.

yep, carbon fiiber and a bit of honeycomb inbetween. great way to make a tear.

float, not. something like 60,000 strokes plus they have 6 dams to carry the boat over.

:lol: :lol: :lol: Trust me, If I did it, it would be a float. Canoe, cooler fishing pole, the works. Mike is smart enough to never get in a canoe where he can't make me go back. I'd just float away.

I do however admire those who race and thought seriously about joining one of the "awareness" races. Have to get in shape. I think I may be there by the time this teardrop is done. 8) Belt sanders are heavy.
