My Jeemper was built to compliment the Jeep pulling it, so I decided the back door needed something that resembles a tire.
My emblem would do the job. I wanted it with raised letters, so figured I’d try my hand at etching. I bought a 15” solid copper plate from a thrift store, put some vinyl on for an acid resist
Then added some additional artwork with a sharpie.
Then it was etching time
When I removed it from the acid bath and cleaned it up, it was shiny copper with raised letters. Exactly what I wanted.
Forces a patina and stained the logo. I love it, I am 1000 miles away, or it would be added to the camper today.
This was my first time attempting something like this, it was easier than I imagined. Thought someone else might like an easy diy to add pizzazz to their camper project.
