On demand propane water heater exhaust is in. I used dicor tape, then eternabond tape over screws and edge, and then dicor self leveling sealer over the eternabond tape seams. This should never leak. In any case, now I don't have to be concerned about running the water heater in confined space. With that done I can put up the FRP paneling tomorrow and hopefully get the vent fan in also. Another hole in the roof! Anxious to test the water heater. I have had it for months and do not even know if it works.

Blue tape is a Dicor dam until it cures. Didn't want it running down the side of the CTC. Lol

Video update on plumbing and interior build progress if interested. This is #11. All together, the videos should help a first time builder at least have an idea where to start and what goes into a more complex build.

I like the install on the AC unit and I'm curious about the noise level, I'm guessing decrease, with the insulation and paneling. I'd also like your opinion on whether an intake vent for the AC unit in the wall vs one in the ceiling would be effective.

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick. The noise level is normal for a window AC. You hear the interior fan, but cannot hear the compressor. It is not bad at all IMO. I don't think it matters whether the intake vent is on the roof or on the side. The critical thing is to make sure the vent opening is adequate for the volume of air required. The bigger the better I might add.

I have been running this AC daily while I work on the interior. It seems to have no trouble at all cooling the inside space and given I have a digital thermostat (independent of AC), I can see it is cycling as expected with temperature. It is expelling a lot of condense waters. Just make sure it has a good drain and not obstructed. I inadvertently pinched off the drain hose while working in the battery compartment and had a little flood. Maybe not an issue at all in less humid climates... but in Fl., a drain it is a big deal if it is not hanging out a window.

PS.. I will edit this later and put a relative DB noise level ( On vs Off) as measure by an app on my phone.

Ok. About 39db ambient noise and AC on high fan about 4ft away is about 60db which is conversation level.

You can see when the AC came on in the graph.

Got the shower fan in today. There's just something a little unsettling about cutting 5 inch holes in the roof, but the deed is done. Sealed it well.

I went with curtains I got at Wal-Mart online. Cheap and effective.

Here is a link. It is a 6inch Maxxair. I've had mine for a while and cannot find the exact one. This looks similar and is made by Maxxair also. Looks like a new mounting system?

Really like what you're doing, Don.
So many amenities in a small trailer. A very practical layout.
I'm not going outside until the temperature is above my age.

Thanks! I looked around a bit for one of these on Amazon but Maxxair never came up in my search so this is great.

Replaced the stock vent with a vent/fan. It is 6 speeds and reversible.

Image

I still have some of the factory sealer to remove from the roof, but I wanted to get the Dicor on before it starts to rain here.

Image

I decided on the flooring. Easy choice since it is free to me. My daughter had a few leftover boxes from a project and gave them to me since they couldn'tbe returned.

Fit check for Graywater tank. Looks like it will bolt it up fine with hangers.
If I decide later to add a proper RV toilet, this will become a blackwater tank and I'll add a gray water to the side of it. Leaving options open.

Took a break from the tank and made a place to hang some jackets. Just one of those things that came to me while I was wondering where I could hang a few things.

Now back to the tank. Lol!

This is what it looks like when the couch is converted to bed. Hoping I can still deploy the bed with the motorcycle onboard. If not, I'll have to sleep on just the couch portion whenever I'm on the road.

Graywater tank is mounted.

I will put a 4 inch square nylon fence post cover in front of the tank for the hose storage like I did on the 7*18. It is a great place to store it and also protects the front of the tank.

I put 3/4 inch polystyrene between tank and floor after Thompson Watersealing the under floor. I gave up 3/4 inch clearance, but I have plenty and wanted the insulation and buffer for the tank. Also, water sealed and painted 1/4 inch plywood to distribute weight and act somewhat as a rock guard.

Now to connect drains and finish that bathroom!
