If I was to switch to one of these from my 4 pin connecter, would I be able to run my new 12v refrigerator continuously while driving? I do have one 100w solar panel on the roof and two Interstate batteries. I do have a 7 pin on my Tundra I could use!

The 7 pin will supply 12vdc , but that is assuming you connect it to your tow vehicle battery with 10 GA wire and a 30A fuse. I believe that is the standard connection. My F250 is connected that way from the factory.

As far as I know, the 4 pin connection doesn't include the 12vdc from tow vehicle battery.

It is an Aleko brand that I bought on Amazon. It is a 10ft 8ft. I really like it. It is the second Aleko I bought. First one is on my 7x18 CTC (13ft by 8 ft) and it has been on there for 5 years. I'd rate the quality as Very Good.

Thanks! I’m delving into understanding requirements to run a 9,000 btu mini split off of solar and batteries. I will almost always carry a generator but would like to not have to use it during day for sure. Any thoughts?

What does the minisplit draw for power when compressor is on? Also, need to understand how long you want to run off batteries.

It is a balancing act by how many amp hours hours of batteries you have versus the ability to recover via solar and etc..

I'd say for sure that you need to be considering LiFePo4 batteries... they can be rather expensive unless you are up for the DIY project to build your own from 3.2VDC cells..

To give you an idea, I wanted to be able to run overnight with batteries if needed. I figured 8 to10 hours. Then I could recharge with solar, or a combination of solar, generator or tow vehicle.

To run off the sun directly, it is a little easier to figure out. I've never seen panels to give 100 percent of advertised power. Not a problem with panels, but a function of solar angle, clouds, etc.. I see between 50 to 70 percent regularly, so you can estimate need with that.

I think I saw around 8 amps somewhere in my reading.... so that’s close to 1,000 watts correct? I do plan to use lithium and will be plugged in to shore power or generator after dark most likely. It would mostly be for those times when you are stopped for lunch maybe and don’t want to run a generator. So say for 2 hours at a time...

Tell me if I understand this correctly. If I had 10 100 watt panels that were 100% efficient and were putting out 100 watts the ac would run off of the panels alone.

Without the panels at all I could run just over an hour with 100ah 12v battery before it was used up?

So with 400 watts of solar I could run the ac with battery for a couple hours before I was out of juice. In a perfect world...

Yes you could... Best bet would be to get a DC to DC conveter to charge off TV also. Never can count on the sun..Cloudy days, shaded roads, etc..

Made it back to my home in Central Florida today after about 2 months on the road and living in this CTC I finished just before I left home on July. Will post a video of one particular day I was traveling and give my thoughts on the overall build.

Hi Hank. Yes , it is good to be home. Home feels so much larger now after living in 72sq. ft. for 2 months. Lex was happy and just ran around her back yard for a while checking it out.

Ordered the kit to relocate the axle under the springs for lift (off-road clearance and to level more with my truck) and also ordered the SumoSprings to improve handling and etc.. The SumoSprings should help with any sway associated with the higher center of gravity and also for uneven loading side to side if I am not carrying the motorcycle.

Decided to DIY the axle move as the local shop will no longer do it. Doesn't look that hard and I can tack weld the perches myself now in any case. The Dexter kit will ensure parallelism to the existing perches and has hardware to transfer any load to them as well for braking and etc. (should not be needed for that with welds... but I guess some folks do not weld them).

Will receive all parts in about 2 weeks. Will post before and after pics. I am expecting about 5 inches of lift given the axle diameter is 3 inches and I will effectively be adding 2X the perch height plus spring thickness to that also with the relocation under the leaf springs.

Now I need to find some good all terrain trailer tires. Any recommendations?
