Chris,
Thats what the temps were in Alaska. It was as close to perfect as it gets for temps. I wish I was there. I am trying to adapt a window A/C for TD use for N meets S this weekend. I really wished I was in Alaska today while under the TD in the shady garage. (It was only 97 degrees.)

I'd love to move there................but my girlfriend would never go for it. And, frankly, I don't think I could live with the mosquitos myself!

The world is all messed up. Believe it or not, El Paso, Texas has been hit with major storms this week which has flooded our city. The emergency command centers have been activated and portions of the city evacuated. The city has set up evacuation centers at the larger schools around the city. The National Guard has even been called up to monitor several out lying towns. The interstate was shut down for many hours and several border check points closed as well. Weird weather. No one down here has seen anything like it ......! (?)

Well, you poor northern folks..I hate to break up your pitty party, but it's damn hot here in Savannah Ga, ALL SUMMER long..and summer here starts in april and ends somewhere in october..in fact, it's only been in the low 90's so far this year...last year it was hitting 100 in the shade most days in july and august..and Chris, the idea of a misting system is exactly what your poor Lama's need..even if it's humid, mister's feel good.

Ok Chris..i didn't see that last post, but, ok..fer example..on Hilton Head Island...down at the light house in Sea Pines, they have misters hooked to fans..at the bar..the fans are pointed up, and the water never hits the customers, but it's 10 degress cooler inside the area the fans are..

I agree totally..................for humans it is great. Swamp coolers work great, if the humidity is low..............but only for humans. The wool on a llamas body is 1/3 the weight of sheeps wool and 3 times the warmth. It is the hollow fiber that Dupont used as a concept when it first came up with Hollofil. Not much one can do for llamas except provide swimming ponds..............which are all dried up in our area, and water troughs are a pretty pathetic substitution. That's why we have to water their legs and bellies a couple of times a day. It'll be winter here...........someday. Just hope we don't get another "Indian Summer" winter like we've had the past three years. I'm ready for a cooler climate. Maybe Vancouver?!?!?!

Sorry, I'm a little giddy this morning from happiness. I got out of having to shlep down to Miami. The guy THERE doesn't want to be there either, so he's meeting me up HERE!

And to kill two posts with one stone, my free generator deal crapped out. The guy aplogized to me profusely, because he said he had forgotten that he had given it to someone else last year. Do I believe him, or just not give him any business?

Us northern folk just think you guys are used to it and like it. Kinda like the wether we get up this way in the winter. Months at a time below freezing. Our cold time is usually late Oct to early May, or sometimes late May. We are used to it and don't say much about it unless its snowing out. Then we all have to brag, or complain about the shoveling we have to do.

Gotta go install the TD A/C for N meets S. We are leaving tonight.
