Micro-foamie teardrop pulled by a vintage Vespa scooter!

Hello Everyone!

I posted a month or so back when I completed the build of my micro-foamie teardrop that was designed to be pulled by my vintage Vespa motor scooter. I just released my second video and and would like to share it with you. I'm really open to constructive feedback so please let me know what you think.

I want to make quality videos that are peaceful, relaxing, and give viewers 15 minutes to decompress and recenter. If I can accomplish that, I'd be a happy guy. Do you have any suggestions for content that might help me accomplish this?

What a great video!! Thanks for sharing it. You seem to enjoy cooking as much as I do. And scrapple.... a man after my own heart. I loved the way you cooked the hen in your last escapade.
I'm sure you don't cook all the time. Maybe share some of your adventures while camping,... .hiking .. .visiting, whatever. I'm always interested in what others do while out in nature.

A Vespa pulling a camper? I had to watch! Nicely done, and you make some good looking food!

My dog also thanks you, I sat on the couch and he got 15 minutes of ear and neck scratches while I watched. It's what I do when I need a work break...this was perfect for that. Looked very peaceful.

Tom, I see from surfing Youtube that you were ably assisted by Lucy, she of the stunning carpentry and perfectly smooth PMF.
So I was watching the time lapse video of your build that she has on her channel, "the L Wood by Lucy"
I noticed at 13:53 you used a piano hinge with bike tube gasket underneath it.
I'm planning to do the same. The hinge is waiting in my bedroom for installation day. (Most everything that is awaiting installation is hiding in my bedroom or the hallway in hopes of keeping it undamaged)
I'm wondering how it has turned out.
Does it keep water out? is the rubber being stretched excessively around the hinge when the hatch is up?
Rationale for not splitting it and using a single layer?
I haven't measured, but I got a fat bike tube the other day and I think I'll probably have to split it to get the width - the hinge is 2 inches wide when opened.

I read your post, Mick.... and had to go search myself. I found a video of Lucy applying the canvas to the foam. I had no idea of this method. I can see now why Tom's trailer is so light. Really interesting, cool, great.... and when I compare the material costs of what it might take for Tom's build compared to what I've got into my build.... I'm going to have to research this a bit more. I suppose for a build on the scale of Tom's vs a larger (5x10 say).... one would have to add some additional supporting members. I picked up that she's built a number of these trailers....so I'm going to be searching for more of her videos.

Hi Tom,
Do you have any specifics about the aluminum trailer frame, axle, wheels and tires you used?

I just picked up a Honda Silverwing 600cc maxi scooter and stumbled on a trailer hitch for it cheap on eBay.

I’m still building my original 6x10 vardo style foamie camper, but when I’m done, I’m seriously considering building a second one for my Silverwing.

Any input on the trailer frame build would be immensely appreciated!
