Put some Falken All terrain LT235/75R15 load range E (116R) on the CTC. Could not find any ST all terrain tires and I was told Westlake, who made the only AT ST tire, is now out of business .
These are 10ply sidewalls and max load of 2750 a tire, so the new tires exceed the load Range D ST tire specifications that were stock.
In fact, I was picking up an RV in Elkhart to transport back to Florida last week ( a little side gig I picked up a few months ago), and the lot had a bunch of small Winnebago's with Goodyear Wrangler All Terrain LT tires on them. Apparently, Airstream and other OEM's are also putting ST tires on at the factory these days as well.
Discount Tire had no issues mounting them up and said they should actually have a better ride and specifications are exceeded for my 5200lb axle.. so NP.
I think they look great!
A lot of online debate about Light Truck tires on travel trailers. From all the banter, I concluded for myself that as long as the tires properly fit the wheel and meet or exceed specifications of stock tires (load, speed, sidewall ply which goes with load), they should work fine. The issues arise when people do not pay attention to specifications which are not "apples to apples with ST and LT tires" and also under or over inflate. I was most concerned with the sidewall construct, but these are 10 ply vs the 8 ply I had
We'll see how it tows in a few weeks. The Speed rating (R) significantly exceed the ST tires. I don't think I'll be going 106mph
