Electrical system for Boondocking?

Anything electric, AC or DC

"25AH 51.2v LIFEPO4 Battery " Are you kidding? 25 amps?. But maybe I'm getting my Ohm's law since it's an odd voltage. But amps is amps. My $200 AGM that should last nearly a decade has 35 usable amps.

I am thinking not all amps are created equal. It also depends on the voltage.
It seems to me that what we care about ultimately is the watt-hour delivery. I think Watts = Volts x Amps.

A 50V 25AH battery can deliver 1250 watt-hr, while a 12V battery with 35 AH has only 420 watt-hr.

3,000W/12A=250A. At 200AH (assuming C is 200A) you don't have enough battery capacity for the full 3,000W inverter output. I would add more battery or use a 2,000W inverter.

Tom:

That was in reference to the battery in the $2,000 black-box gizmo. I'll say it again, are you kidding me?

I am all for new tech. I can even geek out on it a bit. That said. I keep doing the math on lithium and I will probably replace my 5yr old AGM with another AGM.

I'm with Friz on this. Looking at all the operating specs on the lithium batteries and electronics required to keep them happy, I feel we're doing well enough with our AGM for our camping needs. If we get 7 years each, that'll be about 2 more batteries for the rest of our camping careers.

Of course, we have a garage that we need to wire for off-grid someday, and I don't know if lithium would have a place there. And, seeing what others are doing and reporting on this forum, lithium looks like a fun project on its own merits.
