Succesfull fule mileage increase with Snow board wind deflec

It's official. I mounted it.
$5 dollar burden gas .

Has 3 holes to adjust to.
Front hole is --29°
Middle -- 34°
Rear -- 32°

If the bug line results are good, I may get a longer board and flip it so the slick (waxed) side is up .

After our first trip with the wind deflector on, I'd like to report successful fuel mileage increase.

Normally I get 10mpg towing. It has increased to 13.5mpg even in strong wind and a big hill (Parleys canyon I-80).

Another thing I've noticed was I wasn't getting the pull from the trailer when side winds would hit it.
The bug line is almost non existent, up near the trim .

I would recommend this especially with gas now over $5gal.

Grabbed a slightly bigger snowboard so the ends don't touch the shell when flipped upside down.
115cm/45" to 130cm/51.5"

looks like a lot better fit, this "Burton" branded one looks like a much better sized one = looks to fit your canopy a lot better and will probably end up do a better job of kicking the air upwards being it is a bit larger. good luck

Official test of the bigger board was last weekend. Went to the same place Rockport. Achieved 14.2mpg .
Bug line is gone.

Another trip in the books. This time I did the gas mileage while on flat ground. 2 hrs of driving before I entered the canyon. Some small hills included.

Noticing the front of the trailer is a bit high after installing new rear shocks
When we got home I switched out the hitch from a 2" drop hitch to a 3" drop.
Even recreated the original pic from earlier. Looks more level now.

I am curious, does your Dakota have the 3.7L V6 or the 4.7L V8? Do you run with the Tow/Haul mode engaged or disengaged? My Liberty has the 3.7 and I have never towed with better than 13 mpg in tow/haul mode (no overdrive). Thinking of rigging up something like this on the back of my roof rack.

I do have a slanted front on the trailer, but getting the air up over the gap would probably help a lot.

I have the 4.7 V8. Mostly I tow in the tow/haul mode (no Overdrive) but sometimes if im going downhill, I'll let it go into OD.
Last trip was in OD on the flats for about 20 miles till it wanted to downshift, then I switched to tow/haul mode.
I also keep it at 64mph to keep the rpms at 2,800 and help mpgs.
My experience is downshifting alot, is what heats up transmissions .

My woman has a liberty just like yours. KK , red with a 2" lift.
Haven't towed with it yet. Needs the trailer wiring hooked up. Still sitting in its box.
