Fishing Stories, Locations and Pictures

OK, I haven't really seen too many topics or discussions on fishing on this forum, so I'm starting one.

Here's the deal. I just spent a week up in Arizona fishing and didn't catch a thing. I did get some awesome fishing and scenic pictures like the one below (my new desk top photo), but no fish:



The fisherman ten feet to my right and to my left were pulling in trout one after the other, so it wasn't like they weren't biting. I haven't had a good fishing trip since my trip two years ago to Lake Utah! Anyway, since I can't seem to get any, I'd like to see any pictures of your catches, or hear about your favorite fishing holes.

I can't catch trout anywhere. They know I'm gonna eat them.

This is a picture of my 8 year old grandaughter with her 11" shell cracker. She had a cheapy plastic reel and it broke bringing this bigun in. She was so happy because everyone quit fishing where she was. They were tired of loosing their bait. It was also about 50 degrees and misting rain.

I believe that if you don't teach them to fish when they are young, then you've lost them to the sport. The first day out camping last week my eight year old daughter kept asking me, "Did you go get your fishing license yet? When are we going out fishing?" Although we didn't have any luck, the time spent with her on the lake shore fishing was priceless!

Out in my kayak with the trolling motor on it reelin' one in on Lake Bastrop, Texas last Saturday morning early. Bass were schooling and hitting topwater torpedos. Lots of fun.

Or, if they're comin' in one or two at a time, they gotta be King size!

Only Cheechakos keep the big ones....IMHO...your best eating halibut are the 25-35 pounders or there about....the 150 plus pounders are the prolific spawners and should be released.

I can tell you this...once you have dressed a 150 lb halibut and tried to figure out what to do with the meat...you'll never keep one again. Much better catch a lot of halibut for the fun of it and keep some smaller fish over the summer season as fresh and winter frozen.
