Trans America Trail (TAT) - Flboy

I start my adventure on the TAT Friday July 1 with my brother who will also be on a KTM-690R. Following is the route overview going out from east to west. We think it will take 3 or 4 weeks going out and plan 7 to 10 days to return. Coming back on the slab, so the route is still TBD although we know we want to make a stop in Cheyenne, Wyoming for 1 day. Will post a few progress updates for anyone interested, I'll probably start a blog on ADVrider also since this is more of a thing over there.

Tony, we are camping on trail. Part of the adventure. May grab a hotel room once or twice to recover a bit if needed. I love to primitive camp and looking forward to that as much as the ride. It is usually cool enough at night to sleep well. We will be riding the hottest part of the days. If the heat is too bad in parts of the desert, we may find some shade to rest/nap during the hottest part of the day and then make up some time after sundown. I'll have good lighting for night riding.

Hope you have as much fun on your trip as I am having on mine. Today is day 57 of a three month 15,000 mile road trip around the USA and Canada. I have been as far south as Key West and am heading to Fairbanks Alaska and a side trip to Prudoah Bay.

Man, that looks like a great trip. So glad you decided to create a thread for it. I just did our Longest Day ride over the weekend up in Interlochen, MI on the adv bike. Wishing I had the time to head out on the bike again.
