My son just bought this trailer to help with moving, camping & hunting. He's planning on a side-by-side in the future, so this will be mostly a toy-hauler, but with minimal interior upgrades for camping & comfort. There won't be much space left over once the vehicle is parked inside, but there should be enough for a basic camp. I'll build a forward cabinet for the V nose area. He's going out again this year. It will be his 6th deployment (Army, E8, 1st sergeant in the infantry), this time into eastern Europe somewhere instead of the Middle East (5 tours, purple heart & Bronze star). It should give me plenty of time to get things right while he's overseas.
For now, we're planning on a solar setup with shore power for air conditioning, lights inside & outside, a radio & perhaps a "few" other things to make camping more comfortable than a tent & sleeping bag. I continue to receive more questions & photos, asking about "Hey dad, can we do this too?" So far it's looking like about $200 per picture in additions, extras & odds & ends.
It's early yet, the trailer is in Tennessee & we're in New Mexico, but it should arrive here in the next month or two. For now we're doing the planning & design stuff to make things work. Here's what we're starting with for the build.
