Hello Sleuths,
I am hoping you can help me out...
While I wait for my main project to be finished, I am persevering with my existing set up...
Some time back between 1960 and 1970 my grandfather built a small trailer for hauling roofing shingles.
It has a 36" long (hub to hub) axel with 25mm spindles. (0.985in)
I am less than a month away from a 2000+ mile road trip with this trailer, and thought it would be best to check the bearings...
I now better understand "ignorance is Bliss..." The Oil seals are destroyed...

So...
My question...
36" axel
27.5" spring spacing
4 on 4 hubs
National 471787 Oil Seals (These are what was on there... but they list an ID of 1.25"... which is NOT 25mm? What's the story with that?)
HR 30205J Bearings
Races (unknown)
Any Idea where I can get spares OF Any of these parts?
The Axel seems to be a mystery... unless i am missing something, it doesn't seem to match any "standard" axels on the market today.
National doesn't seem to make these oil seals anymore...
Yes... i have googled it... i can find ONE on Amazon...
Would a new HUB and BEARING kit from somewhere like etrailer with 1" ID on the bearings be suitable? Or is that just a bad idea?
