Thanks for putting this together.
Crazy trip for me. What the best thing about a tiny trailer/teardrop?
Everything is almost always ready to go on a moments notice. Except........
I did not take the teardrop and only decided to go Thursday afternoon.
Friday morning was at work early for half a day. Got home around ten and packed up in a hurry, got the stuff for the dogs and off we went.
Got to camp around one just in time for lunch. Afterwards sat around camp, enjoyed the beautiful day while catching up with Wanye, Sam & Cat for a couple of hours.
Around 4 decided to set up the tent for the night. Pulled out the tent to set up. No tent poles.
OK. I can sleep in the back of the truck. Start to arrange things to that end and then it hit me. We're is the sleeping bag? On the bench in the garage

Thought about it for a while can came to a conclusion. This trip was supposed to be fun and it just was not happening.
Waited until almost sunset and headed back home hoping to miss Salt Lake city Friday night traffic. Got home save and sound.

When I go tent camping again, I will have a checklist so this won't happen again.

We had a great time. The weather was perfect, Leaves changing colors. Enjoyed meeting Wayne and catching up with Wolfgang.
Hope to do it again next year. (even though the fishing sucked....)

Thanks DesertMoose and Wolfgang for coming out. I had a extra sleeping bag you could used. It was a warm night till about 3am then cold kicked in.
What a great weekend. Definitely going to have to do this next year.


Sunday morning, the dirt road to Painted rocks was really smooth.
The 4wd trail was washed out towards the end and I hiked the last hill. Great views.


On the way out I checked out the Eagle view campground. Primitive style with clean vault toilets . Sandy with the lake's edge close by.
Might have to camp there sometime.




When I got back to camp, I went to air up my tires and my lil compressor died. Had to go into Lavan to fill the tires. New Viair compressor is ordered.

Scratch that. The Viair compressor has doubled in price so I canceled that order. Looking into the Napa unit with duel motors. Should be coming in the next few days.

Since winter is coming and most put away thier trailers. Id like to do one or two more campouts. Possibly Antelope island again or the sun tunnels (during winter solstice) out by wendover.
Last time I did that was 2012 (end of the world) and froze my butt off.
Want to try that again with the wood stove.
If anyone is brave enough to join the offer is out there.
