So who's in for this outing. So far it looks like rmcelory and myself. Let's talk it up and make this a good one for this area. Sometimes you just have to make time to have fun.

If Skynerd's not playing at the Jam we can probably come. Actually even if they are we still might be able depending on what night they are playing.

Alabama's beautiful guys, ya'll come on down!

I would like to come. I am still waiting for the green light from the hubby. He has a workshop he wants to attend that weekend in Cleveland, GA, but he's supposed to find out if they offer that workshop again another time soon so we can come to this gathering.

I know you can't reserve specific sites, but what part of the campground is everyone going to try and be in? Or is someone going up there early and staking out sites for us so we can be together?

My family are planning to come! We're glad to finally find a teardrop gathering close to home, we're not venturing too far yet with our towing car (restoring a 1954 Chevy).

Cheryl, I thought sections D or E looked good. I would like to see the water. I could show up early, I'll check with them and see what might be done to group us together.

Section E!

Postby stbuch » Tue Aug 01, 2006 3:54 pm

In my opinion, having been there many times, E is the best section. Of course individual tastes vary. If you had to reserve a section in advance, I'd ask for E.

Good lake view, close to the bath house and close to the pavillion and tennis courts.

ps.
Skynerd is not in the Jam lineup this year  so it looks like we will probably make it to Guntersville after all. Would like to see Bo Bice, though!

Talked to Gutersville, they said the only way to "reserve" spots were to show up and pay for the first night on each and place a car or tent on the sites.

I asked if I could use crime tape-she didn't think that was funny. Maybe if I draw chalk outlines on the ground...........

Postby stbuch » Sun Aug 06, 2006 8:19 pm

Buck's Pocket? I thought the gathering was at Lake Guntersville. Did ya'll change it while I was gone?

No change that I know of. It is still Guntersville as far as I know, and still trying to get hubby to agree to go!

Come on down to Guntersville. I think this will be some of the best camping of the year. It sure would be nice to have a dozen or more campers with us. Going camping at Guntersville this weekend and do a test run of my new camper. I hope it goes well, ya'll know how these first trips are. I'll scope out the campground for the best sites and get back online and let you know how it looks.

I am still planning to come on the 22nd. Was checking out my TT over the weekend and discovered I had had a leak. Will have to fix leak before then but don't know if will get to paneling by then. At least its still servicable.

My mistake on Bucks pocket.
Guntersville is still not that far a way.

They are close

Postby stbuch » Sat Aug 12, 2006 7:27 am

They are indeed close together. Buck's Pocket is beautiful and more rustic. Guntersville is definitely more desirable for a gathering b/c of the size of the park and the availability of amenities.
Ya'll come!
