This weekend I rented a stall at a DIY garage to get some work done on the Jeep Liberty in a heated space. (I could actually see renting this space to work on the trailer too, if it is rainy or cold out.)
Some repairs on the Jeep this weekend include:
Water pump & thermostat
Oil change and tire rotation
Rear shocks and sway bar links
Fix a blinker that has a bad ground
Tack up a loose exhaust heat shield
Some more repairs and mods for another day include:
Replace leaking steering rack
Front limited slip differential install
Rear locking differential (lunchbox type) install
The Jeep now has 217,000 miles and I will eventually be keeping it as my work/trail rig when I retire it from daily driver duty. It’s got some serious off road stuff to do this summer for work, thus the lockers. Regearing it to a lower ratio would also be nice. It’s got a 4 inch lift, skid plates and recovery points already. This Jeep has been my other fun hobby along with building the trailer. Last summer I rebuilt the front suspension from the ground up.
