Wish there was a chat link in here

Be nice if there was a chat link in here. Would probably help to clear up some of space being wasted.

Bad idea. I already spend so much time here, Wendy calls it the "cult site". If we had a chat room, none of us would ever complete our projects. Some of us might even be be fired from our jobs for hanging out here when we should be working.

I agree, a chat link is a bad idea, but for other reasons.

Valuable information from a chat is not typically captured for everyone else to read.

Mike...

P.S. I can relate to the waste of time. When AOL first came out for the Commodore 64 I lost a lot a time chatting. Don't want to go there again!

Valuable information is great but wading through a lot of the general conversation gets old.

Chat room.  And by the way, what space are you talking about being wasted? When somebody is learning something with any posting being made, then space is not being wasted even if it doesn't interest you and you say to yourself "What a waste that post was." And by the way, how's your tiny trailer coming along?

Have a good day.

I'm sure glade everyone doesn't think like you. There would be no one on this board to answer your questions except other newbies with the same questions. So deal with the friendly conversations along with the answers.

The last time I checked, this wasn't a 'Build Only' board. Also if you want a chat room so badly, start one up.

Again, have a good day.

OK Didn't want to make anybody mad, but this is a perfect example of a conversation that could have been carried on in a chat room. I am just expressing an opinion. I like to chat with people on line and have made a couple of friends that way. A lot of what we chat about is just general BS and dosn't really need to be on a site. I just thought it would be nice to chat with people that had some of the same general interest.

Regardless I have said my bit and will let it drop.

Say, Paw_Paw_Drew,

While you are hanging around, I'd like to ask you to post a personal picture avatar. Just grab a digital camera and take a picture. Download it to your machine and I might add that avatars can be no more than 200 pixels highx150 wide………….. and then follow directions on the avatar control panel in your profile for uploading. Oh, and in keeping with your desire for a more friendly panel, it's more friendly when ya sign your real name so we can communicate. Thanks.
Chris :D

I don't know if you have seen the link "View posts since last visit" which is on the main forum page at the top right just above "Last Post"

I use it all the time and then pick and choose what I'm interested in reading. As long as the subject is relatively close to what the thread is about, it makes for quick reading.

Drew, don't sweat the various answers...we are learning something new even here and I'm not killing the thread for the following...there actually is a chat link on the board...but if you don't know it I ain't telling for the reasons stated...too much valuable info would get lost to the cybershpere and we actually tried a chat room awhile back...I believe Dale set it up...total flop it was too...personally I like the chit chat...makes for a friendlier place and doesn't take to long too get thru...and I read everything...besides the "View posts since last visit" makes it pretty painless...

Isn't there a chat room option with the Frapper map?

You were expressing an opinion and didn't expect others to come in with there opinions? You've post it in the 'Off Topic' section so what's wrong with some chit chat and opinions from others. But then if you want to talk about someone without them or others knowing what your saying about them, then use the 'PM' method.

A couple of questions were asked of you. One might think you haven't got an answer or can't answer with out getting pissed so your going to just bail?

Have a good day.
