Aaah, fantastic... I didn't know that you could chrome aluminum by rubbing - thanks very much!!
It was a long wait for the winter to pass... I'm starting up again, and this is where I am at now...
It was challenging to fit the okoume 5X10 sheet into the router groove -top of the wall (both sides) - but it is satisfying to have the rood in place.
I have enough headroom to allow for four inside. Thats for rainy days - and you need four to play euchre...
The drawers will slide into the long wooden boxes along the floor - the bed platform will use them as support. And in between I will have a fairly roomy footwell for sitting when the bed is setup for seating. I wanted to stain before assembling but the weather was too cold and I needed to push along and get things done. I only have two more months to get ready to travel across Canada August 1. (Toronto to Vancouver Island) I have a feeling I will still have things left undone but the maiden voyage will help to give me ideas for finishing up properly.

Thanks for the suggestions to match window trims. I will try polishing first.

She is travelling with me so I indulge her in the process...

It was a real crazy push to finish it for my travel across Canada. But it ended up quite nice. And now that I moved to BC I have been so sidetracked that it isn't getting much use YET!
