Air Conditioner

Postby Dahlia47 » Tue Jun 11, 2024 3:33 pm

Anyone ever try one of these? I'm curious. Will this work with my 300 watt solar generator with a 100 watt solar panel? I'm trying to find a decent priced one.

I have not, so take that into consideration.

Reading into the Amazon ad, they say it runs at 130 watts in the 12 volt mode (not on high) which means it draws about 11 amps. That would run down most teardrop batteries in a few hours, and it's considerably less powerful than a typical window air conditioner (which may be appropriate for a small space like a teardrop). So I wouldn't expect too much from it, although, again, I haven't tried it.

Running at 130 watts, the 100 watt solar panel won't keep up.

Note the lack of reviews. You might run the product through Youtube.

I had a Pet Cool that was rated at 2500 btuh and it barely kept up in 95+ weather, and that was in our 4x8 insulated tear. I doubt an 1800 btuh would work very well in hot weather, especially if you have an unfinished aluminum skin and no insulation. 5000 btuh is the minimum size A/C I'd use as it works great in our TTT.
