Air conditioning for our little monsters

Postby Wrecit » Thu Jun 20, 2024 2:56 pm

Kind of a might be something post but was doing some dream window shopping over on Amazon and there looks to be a new very low cost Chinese mini split rip off that’s hitting America. I found at least 4 diffrent sellers listing them and the oldest listing is like 7 days ago. Cost looks to range from about $60 to 120 right now from the Amazon sellers

I always felt even for my 6x12 enclosed trailer conversion a standard mini split would be overkill for my square footage. These new units look completely self contained. They are 110 power which is a negative for my all 12v set up. Their dimensions are like 16 inch wide 6 inch tall.

They also claim to be a combo air conditioner and heater.

So maybe after some reviews come in I will add a Chinese ac to my Chinese diesel heater lol

Sorry to stupid today to figure out how to post an Amazon link. If someone smarter can link one I will be your forever fan lol
You hide your conversion and call it stealth. I put mine out in the open and give it a beer.

Is it like this one?
Cheap, fake mini split on Amazon
It's just a fan with a heating strip in it. No A/C...

That was my thought when I first saw them but at least 2 listings (the ones right around $100 American) had some mention of 134. Not sure so was going to wait for some reviews to be posted

I recently read about a couple of new mini-split units that run on solar panels off grid!
They are listed as 1 ton or 12000btu. The can run on either 110v AC or DC..?

I'm Intrigued. I haven't found a lot of info about them yet.

Most of the 12K BTUH mini splits run off 240V AC and there are a few that run off DC. Browse Ali Express (at your own risk) for DC versions then try and find a US vendor if you want to go DC. Pioneer makes a 120V AC, 9K BTUH split unit that is popular with class C and truck RV crowd. I'd go with the Pioneer but I haven't found a spot for the condenser that I like on the van (the AC condenser units have to be mounted vertically).
