Remodel Time!

So I had some time on my hands. I decided to remodel my TTT! I didnt like the original layout. The kitchen area and shelves were on the tongue. The bed and under storage were on the back. Soni switched them! I now actually have a potty/shower/seat combo. A cabinet that holds all my pans, utensils and my fridge! The bed is higher with more storage. It will slide and fold. The lighting is so much better and there is actually more room! Oh! The door was moved from the side to the back. So, as you walk in thru the back...off to ur left is the kitchen area... Off to the right is the bathroom area. But it just looks like a bench. Under the bench hides the potty/shower. Looking towards the tongue is the couch/bed. Give me some time and ill post some pics. The dog is asking for a walk! Lol!

I should be finished building the bed tomorrow. After that its putting things where they belong. Painting the outside. When the inside is done ill post more pics.
A couple questions...
Will foam insulation board work to insulate and not add a lot of weight?
Also, I found a 1000 btu AC. Its a Black & Decker. It says it uses r-290 refrigerant. Is it going to work for a small 6'*12'*7' space? If there is anyone with ac experience?
But with the remodel I was able to put the weight where it needed to be. I now do not have to pull the bed toward the tongue to distribute the weight while we drive. The bed should be easier to fold from couch to bed and bed to couch. I always have hated the bed. Ugh! Hopefully better now. Ill find out when we take the next trip!

That's how I built our cargo trailer. I wanted all the heavy stuff over the axle or slightly forward. The rear door is nice for entry.

I never insulated my 4x8 trailer, but had to use other methods to keep it cool: multiple windows & vents, high-flow air circulator inside, and a 5000 BTU window-unit A/C. Plus, I keep my trailer in shade, blocking the sun on the streetside, with the pop-up canopy over the top, and 4 feet out in front of the curb-side (my preferred entry). At present, your trailer seems totally uninsulated, and if you travel in Texas and Louisiana (which the stickers indicate), You'll need to emulate some of my methods to survive hot weather camping...a 1000 BTU unit wont't cut it.

My 5000 BTU A/C will easily coll my 4x8 trailer to refrigerator temperatures, because of the small interior sleeping space (about 100 cubic feet), whereas you say your interior space is 504 cubic feet...five times as much. A 5000 BTU unit, like mine, would barely meet the BTU requirements. Plus, a 5000 BTU unit, or even a larger one, would probably cost less than the Black and Decker unit you mention.

Remember to check your balance! The majority of the weight should be in front of the axle (around 60%) while the lesser weight (around 40%) should be behind the axle or you could have some towing issues. You may need to move the axle back a ways.

I was really hoping to put a mini closet in. I still might be able to. We will see. Im really surprised how much I was able to fit in. I think with a bit of finesse, I might...might...be able to add in the mini closet. When it is done, I'll make a new thread. Enjoy!
