Spring Hatch & Lid Holders: Anyone Ever Use These on A

Postby Todah Tear » Tue Jul 03, 2007 10:08 am

Has anyone ever used these spring hatch holders. What was the outcome.

Basically, to release the holder (cause it to bend in the middle), just press the sping in the middle. The maximum load support that I have read on a particular spring is 100 lbs and the maximum load support on another one was 10 lbs.

Here's a few links and a picture:

Have you decided which load rating best suits your application?

And another bot, again. A first post on a 2007 thread.

What's the game?

have them on mine and they work good. Mine are the ones that are all SS (including the mounting parts - have seen some that have plastic mounting parts) The newer versions have a internal SS cable built inside the spring that connects the two mounts = keeps things connected in the wind = NO blow overs. The only problem I have had is at Border Crossings (Canadian/US) inspections - sometimes the officers open the lid for a 'look-see', than can't figure out how to re-close it? = being they want me to stay in the car, I usually tell them if they open it to just leave it open and I will re-close it after I exit the area. Have had this trailer for over 7+ years now with them and they have held up !!great!! (and yes, I bought a extra set years ago -from Oregon Trailers- and still have not needed them)

just now after re-reading the original message noticed the 'date' ?? ah-da  = ????? 2007 ???????? oh well = this is 'my' answer to the question being asked..... take care
