Hi Mary, yes that will work for you but you need to know that it is only rated for 15 amps at 125 volts. While i haven't camped where they have power i have been told the power they have is 20 amps or 30 amps.
while this will work if they have 15amp recpt. for you to plug into with your extention cord.

Yep, that'll work. But before you buy, be sure to check your local RV dealer (like Camping World) for the same thing but cheaper.

Yup, works for me. You can get an adaptor that will allow you to use your extension cord for situations when the campground only has 30 amp receptacles.

echoechoecho...that inlet can be had from many places for 12-15 bucks...Academy Sporting gooods, WaytekWire.com and BassPro to name a few...as long as the amount of power you will draw is no more than 15A, it doesn't matter what the CG has for power...many CGs have adapters available for 30A to 20A extension cords...they are fairly common...by the way, that is the same inlet we used....

This happened to me at the Petaluma KOA. The pole only had 30A plugs and I just have a regular extension cord. Gage had adapter to lend me but since we were only there for the night I decided that I didn't need to hook up.

Just as a point of information, there are also twist lock plugs and receptacles made in most amperages you'd need for a teardrop. I made my own extension card using a 30 amp rv male plug to a 30 amp female twist lock to go into my teardrop. You just plug it in and give it a slight twist, this locks it in and would prevent the cord form possibly coming unplugged while in use.

The one i have has a hinged cover, and is made to go thru a bulkhead. Made out of stainless and more expensive, but this next one can be had for about $20

If the receptacle is rated for 15 amps, wouldn't you want a 15 amp fuse? This way, if you draw more than 15 amps, you blow the fuse (cheap and easy to replace) instead of the receptacle (more expensive and harder to replace).

Hey Rocky!!

Did you guys stay at the Petaluma KOA too? Kelly and I did on the way up, and I thought it was really nice. I enjoyed an icecream sunday while doing a load of laundry. They even had a big tent set up with a big screen TV showing cartoons for the kids. Definately nicer than the other 2 KOAs we stayed at.

I'm sorry you and Kelly had to stay at that KOA between Eureka and Arcata...
I thought I had posted about that way way back...
I think Tom S. told me he stayed there once...
I've fixed a lot of broken windows there over the years.
If I'm not mistaken, Tom told me that there was one othre one he stayed at that was worse than that one...

Toolie, here is the one I have.

I got mine from a friend that no longer had a boat. (it is a marine shore line hookup). I doubt that you'd want to spend that much on one, about $150.00 but they sure do look good don't they.
