This concerns me -- first the builder abandons it, then the 2nd owner doesn't keep it very long.

Was the size or quality of the trailer unsatisfactory?

It had no galley. So half the reason for having a teardrop was missing.

'It's like I saw them on RV CRAZY, they are so cute I just have to have one and don't give it much thought until a couple of months down stream.'

Have a good day.

Nothing against Peg. She most likely has her reasons.

Postby tully83 » Fri Jul 28, 2006 7:45 pm

What's your gut feeling? Is it the paint job, or is it the lack of a galley? What would it take to put a galley in that thing? (Yea I know... a handy man! )

It sounds like she needs to come down in price just a touch!

I would say the biggest needed change is the paint. The little Guy is living proof that you really don't need a galley as long as it's just not a sleeper. I don't remember, was there any cabinets inside? To get the most market, I would think a galley would help and I think you could add a galley for just a couple of hundred. With a galley she should be able to get between $2500 & $3000. Not much more than that (if that) because it's not a teardrop that the average Joe Blow couldn't build himself for what he thinks he could for less. Sellers are having a hard time getting plus $4000 for restored or otherwise teardrops that look like they were built in the early days.

Just my opinion, have a good day.

I am pretty shure it had cabinets inside because to keep weight down, Steve drilled lightening holes in the doors, then covered them with fabric. The reason why this camper is so spartan is to keep the weight low no hatch, no galley, no extra weight. He was towing it with a Scion xA which has 108hp and 105lb-ft of torque and only weighs around 2300lbs.

Maybe she should repaint it and emphasize the fact that it is built to be towed by small cars.
