Wife fell in love with old Scotty at North/South Gathering and I'm looking. After reading and looking at this whole thing I may just build a repro 10 foot Scotty rather than trying to redo some 40 year old wreck.

I was trying to hit 1500lbs, but I think its going to be closer to 1700+. Balance wize the tounge weight should be 15-20%. I'd say the increase in weight is due to the fact that I will have 2, 6 volt batteries and a 30lb propane tank on the front. The wrong place for extra weight.

Week #9. I just added to last weeks photos. I did the upper kitchen cabinets, finished the tile board & plumbed the shower, fabricated & installed the shower pan, finished framing the beds, cut the rear upper cabinet blanks. Then I went swimming, BBQ'ed some chicken and drank beer.

Its gotta be ready to travel (not necessarily Done) by labor day.

Week #10. Got all the mechanicals working, gas, water, 12V, 110V. Built & installed the Formica tops, my wife is doing a bang-up job on the varnishing, a bunch of odds & ends, install some doors etc and I'm goin' campin' in it next week.

The Maiden Voyage almost went without a hitch. Everything worked very well. My tongue was a little low and it drug as I left the driveway. Thanks to Flexride axels raising the entire trailers ride 4" was not to big of a deal. Flipped the ball mount over and now....no problems.

I also built my awning this weekend. One of the Nimrods at work drove a truck over a brand new Awning fabric, customer didn't accept it, so I got it. Cut out the area with the tire tracks, stiched it up, made some poles, and Wha-La its an awning.

Len, where did you find the support poles? I've seen them that come with tents or canopies, but not sure where to buy just the poles.

Dale, (not Len here)...my local Wally World has adjustable tent poles in a variety of sizes...any large sporting goods store should as well...if you google "tent poles" you will find outfits that sell all manner of poles.......

I've probably had these poles for 25 years out in my shed, don't know where I got them. But Jacks right, Wally World or a good Sporting Goods store does have them. (Campmore near me http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/store ... tent+poles )

I'm sure you noticed this but by having 2 sets of poles, one vertical and one horizontal there is no NEED for guide ropes & stakes, you can put them on if you want but the awning is free standing.
