BigFoot and Lake Bistineau

I have been reading about the history of Lake Bistineau. Has a history that is quite storied.
However, I have read about alligators and nutria (varmint that is something kinda like a beaver).
I was also reading that this area has also been the home of sightings of a "BigFoot" creature.
Should we pack heat for our "ICG"????

You should always have protection (how ever you define it), but I don't think you'll need it against any "Big Foot" creature!

Seriously....we don't have alligators in North Texas....
Do gators come into camp?....I know that it is possible....but is that really a concern....

most gators should be sleepin' by then(they hibernate...kinda)...I have never heard of a gator coming into a camp and taking a dog, especially in the day time with people around...a dog out swimming is a different story...yum yum...we will probably bring one or both our mutant chihuahuas as well...

I gotta disagree with you. If we have gators in southern Oklahoma,( and we do!) you probably got'em in north Texas. Actually there have been several recent possible sighting about 40 miles north of us, so that would be central Oklahoma.

Thanks for the advice. I will be on the lookout for them thar gators walking out of them mesquite patches and cracks in the sun parched earth around here????

Just Kidding....let me re-phrase my original post.....

We ain't got no gators anywhere I go camping in North Texas all the way up to Palo Duro Canyon....them gators would have to bring their water packs with them....

It is so hot and dry around here....it is not uncommon to see a fire hydrant chasing a dog!!!!!

Likewise, though I ususally have my Kel-Tec P3AT. Nice write-up on it in American Rifleman this month. I particularly liked the writer's final comment: "Reliable with ammunition it likes, and conealable under almost any type of clothing, it leaves the armed citizen with no excuses for failing to observe the first rule of gunfighting: have a gun."

Not to skeer you but a nutria is not a beaver. It's a river rat. makes Willard look like a hamster. Biggest rat you have ever seen.
