Hey, I'll be coming from just north of Dallas (I-35). I plan on taking Friday off as well so that I can leave before day. According to Yahoo Maps, I am 5 hours, 31 minutes from Grove, OK. The directions tell me to exit off of I-35 after 170 miles and get onto I-44 East "toward Tulsa", then continue on US 412 (which goes to Tulsa).

I wouldn't want to hold the convoy up, but if you have a designated landmark and a specific time, maybe everyone interested in convoying can meet there. Anyone who doesn't make it by the designated time will know to just continue onto the campground.

Todah and other convoy members,
I used to live in Lewisville Texas, I think the drive to Tulsa will 4 to 5 hours depending on how fast you drive.

JPLOCK,

 Count me in! I am flexible on the time issue as well. I usually like to leave the house before day anyway in order to avoid traffic. So I'll adapt my departure time to accomplish the finalized meeting time if it ends up being earlier than 12:00PM.

I think it will be great! I took my Tear on its maiden camping trip the other weekend. I received several  's and people slowing down to get a better look. That was just 1 Teardrop. Just imagine what will happen if we form a convoy!! We might need a police escort  (Just joking!)

Good morning all! Well, I'm at work right now so I'll post again later.

Yes, I was planning on leaving OKC by 10 am, if Karol and kids want to and Todah, if you want to be in the OKC area by 10 or so , then we'll find a good place for all of us to meet up. Then the three of us can meet jplock in Tulsa and on to the park.

JPLOCK --- That looks like a good place for us to stop and pick you up.
I remember when I went to the park before, the Miami travel center ladies told me it was better to take the Afton exit, then 59 south, then 125 to 85a. I found that to be a good road, just a little winding.
ps... if you stay on 59 to go to Grove, then you cross the lake on Sailboat Bridge -beautiful bridge!!!
Some things are way over my head !! ...but it keeps me looking UP!

Cool, I'm meet up with you ladies in OKC. I'll plan to be there before 10:00. If I'm not there (You two decide "where" and let me know later.) by 10:00AM, go on and I'll catch up to you.

Okay everybody !!!! ONLY 23 days to go !!!!!

The last couple of days cooled down a little here in Oklahoma, but it's gonna warm up again. Don't know yet what it might be in 23 DAYS!

I hope to be there on Friday as originally planned, but he b/f got a city jury duty summons for Sep 11 so hopefully that will only tie him up for a day or two.

How about a potluck that Saturday night? I haven't done any DO stuff... what would everybody else like to bring/have?

Anybody walking the trails? Biking? Fishing?? Of course we have to do the Sat night campfire... I'lll bring a rubbermaid with as much firewood as possible. Every body else try to bring some too if ya can.

WOO HOO!!! LET "S GO ..... :ilovecamp: :Flippin Burger: :picnic: :campfire: :icedtea: :miriams:

Can't wait. I'm up for pot luck but don't have an idea what every one likes.
tater salad? cole slaw?? veggies??? Pasta salad ???? I am taking requests.

Got firewood too. I wil see how much I can get in the van with the other junk.

If I have any money left and there is any water in the lake I will be fishing. Mike might fish or just read a book and walk the trails.

22 days isn't much time to get finished. :? but I am working on it.

What do you all think? There is still a burn ban on now, isn't there? I hope we get lots of rain between now and then. (Our ponds really need it.) Lucas and I will be doing some geocaching that weekend. There is one located on an island in the lake, so we will be bringing one of our canoes. Anyone else is welcome to use it also. My favorite camping activity will be Saturday evening, after dinner. It's called sitting in a lawn chair!

Looks as if we aren't gonna be able to make it this time. I've taken a new job and can't take any time off, this early in the game. :(

Hopefully, we'll be able to make the next one. I was sure looking forward to seeing all of you and your teardrops!

Hahaha... I think that's what a lot of folks do... tweaking , I mean !

It'll be nice to finally meet folks! I'm not a DO cook, and don't even know if I'll have my old Coleman burner fixed up or what .
