for all you dutch oven lovers and those of us who "discovered" them at the IRG, I "tripped" over this site while looking for info on dutch ovens. Looks like a good chance to learn more and check out the "goodies".

The kids and I will be going, not sure about Joanie...
Since the kids are back in school now, we are going to miss the potluck on Friday, but looks like we'll be heading up there at about 2:00am on Saturday morning, to attend the festivities that day... A Redeye Special for sure.

Just call me compulsive (impulsive?). I got a 14in this weekend and a deep 12in today, they're on the BBQ right now. I ended up returning the one from Cabela's and buying the deep 12 on the way home. When you factor in gas, I probably only saved $2. I tell myself that it was worth it because I had to drop something off at my buddy's house. He only lives 3 miles away from the store.

I don't like that, that's almost as bad as ebay.
Reminds me of a company I worked for once.
Every so often, they'd announce that they were accepting sealed bids on used equipment.

Sometimes they have a piece of paper at each item and you can write down your bid. The next person can write down a higher bid. You can keep going back and update your bid.

You may as well check out what it is going for. If it is cheap enough, then I'd bid on it. Though chances are it won't.

I am not a danger in Dean's quest for the 5" Lodge. I have a 5" Camp Chef already that goes pretty much unused. I am looking forward to the Convention. Probably will not make it there in time for Fri. nights potluck. Work really gets in the way of having fun!

You know... I do have a Lodge 5CO, although it has an itzy-bitsy crack in it...
I had a nice talk with Joanie over dinner last night about this matter.
She helped me realize that I covet having an intact Lodge 5CO and that's not good, besides... I also have two Camp Chef 5"ers too. (I bought one new and Matt graciously sold me one of his IDOS private label 5"ers)
Originally, my intent was to attend the convention with the sole purpose of getting that oven no matter what, but after reading the agenda flyer last night and talking with Joanie, my intent has changed, Uh-Huh...
I really doubt that I'm gonna bid on it.
There's gonna be some awesome classes!!!
I sure wish that the IDOS people would've held this event on Saturday and Sunday instead, cause it's gonna be a pretty blury drive just to get there in time for Saturday's festivities.

wow the post woke up! I'm going to drive over friday morning and back in the evening. I'd like to stay sat. but I'm changing the hatch on the tear and no way am I going to drag the 5th wheel along. I have company comming friday night so have to get on home. I hope to "soak up" at least a days worth of Dutch oven smarts. (and buy a lid lifter) hope to see you'all there.
