I don't know yet whether my 13 year old (Lucas) is coming with me or not. It's a long drive if I wait til school is out on Friday. But I have a hard time getting away from him. He loves camping! So I guess we'll have to wait and see. He will be at the Grand Lake gathering. We have no school that day, so he'll probably be the first one in the car!

I am planning to leave that Friday morning, early ! long drive.
I know my 17 yr old has to be at a football game that Friday night, and my 16 yr old- well, I'd have to pull him out of school and I'm not sure he'd really wanna come anyway. Might be doing a lot of help that weekend with a church activity, or (hopefully!) have a part time job by then!!!

We'll see as the time gets closer!

I think mine has decided to stay home anyway. Can't pull himself away from the PC and his buddies for three days.

Just curious... are we looking at any group activities? Let me know if I can lend a hand with something! OH, Madjack, do we have a place to get shirts and stuff yet? If not, I know a place where we can get t-shirts, hoodies, even ummmm undergarments of the low fabric type... if you need... haha. And you can purchase one at a time. If we know where we're getting them from, let me know. I'd like to get one... or several.

JR, we are working on a T shirt deal with Charles Ippes...
we are also going to have a Halloween decorating contest....
JR, I was hoping to have 8-10 trailers show up...didn't think we would get as many as we have, so no other group activities have been planned except for a big feed and campfire gathering on Saturday night...
we are going to have a gumbo supper ready for Friday night as folks come into the campground...
on Saturday night we are working on something similar...to be announced...
basically we want folks to come out and relax and visit...
I am encouraging everyone to bring as much firewood as they can since it should be cool enough for fires...
I am going up on Thursday the 26th and will talk to the ranger to see if we can have a "group" fire or if we will be restricted to the fire rings at the campsites...
I will also talk to them about a deal on canoe and kayak rentals....
like I said...I hoping for 15-20 people to show up and help me celebrate my birthday(Fri)...I never dreamed we would end up with 50+ so I have been doing a little scrambling. But I bet we all have a real good time :D

p.s. as we get a little closer and have a firmer handle on numbers we will probalby be looking for specific items for folks to bring...as stated above...to be announced...MJ

I didn't see a potluck in there. Maybe it could be part of the Saturday festivities?
