Wow Cary, I really appreciate your comments. Obviously your Camp-Inn was a big inspiration in my design (or I suppose, rendition). Funny thing is, is that my initial sketches before ever coming across your trailer looked strikingly similar. I just didn't have the front storage unit. I haven't posted an updated drawing, but I've also extended the sides of the storage unit out to the edges so it forms a quasi "V" shape to *hopefully* help with aerodynamics. See, so we're different.

My design started out with that little figure in a sitting up and laying down position. From that, I drew inside limits for headroom and then added 18" on the back for the kitchenette. After that I connected the dots, basically, and created the shape you see. It wasn't until I added the front storage box that I said, "Hey, that's a Camp-Inn!"

No, I haven't seen one in person, just the pictures on your site and various vacation pictures from your customers. Do you have any Camp-Inns this far south? If so, I would absolutely love to see one in person if only to see the craftsmanship that all of your customers seem to talk about.

Mike, I'm a pretty big guy and I really like the extra headroom, so I'll probably keep it the height it is. I'm afraid it'll be less cozy and more cramped.

My feet are almost 12" long, so 14.75" should be enough to keep me from stubbing my toes while turning over. Also, I don't sleep with my feet straight up, so I think it'll be fine. I'm planning on building a cardboard template to put on my bed to test my theory, so no promises until then.

I got to agree with Ryan. You are a little further along than scribblings. Your body contour looks great and like I said the cabin is very Camp-Inn like so I know that works. That is why I mentioned moving the galley wall further into the cabin a tad. You actually are using more room in the cabin than we do.

Your CAD layout method is the right way to go if you can do it that way. I am sure Mike will agree. This is probably why your contour looks so nice, it is easier to get a good contour with CAD. I know from experiance, we did our original design that way too. We actually drew ours around the model of a cooler. Making the cooler fit was the difficult part. This is mainly since we wanted the cooler on top of the counter sharing the stove area.

Not many of our units in Texas. We have a couple headed there soon but still not anywhere near you (dang big state). I do have an order for one going to Austin, it will be built in a couple of months. We should keep in touch about that one. It would be a good chance to look at one.

Oh, and I agree with your foot well height. That too is about the same as ours. We have lots of tall customers, no one seems to complain.

Oh Lord, if I drew it by hand you wouldn't be able to tell if it was a teardrop or a cow. Some things are better left to compootars.
