The Pigeon Coupe is done!!!!

After nearly 8 months of building I am calling my camper complete. The Pigeon Coupe will take it's maiden voyage/shakedown cruise this coming weekend. I have not officially calculated but I think I kept my costs below $1000 after initially trying for below $500. Ya, right, I got carried away.

It is a comfortable and roomy little camper and seems to tow nicely even though 5 1/2 feet wide. Below are a few poor quality pics with a few more in my album. Yet to install is an AC pass-through in the side to allow electric heat when shore power is available and paint the name on the rear and side.

The name Pigeon Coupe comes from an older friend who stopped by to check out the progress and we decided that I am no cabinet maker, more like chicken coop construction. Since my departed Dad was a pigeon racer I went with that as he is also where I get my building abilities from and he would be amazed to see what I have done from scratch. I guess finally I am amazed as well.

As always thanks to those who answered questions along the way (whether directly or indirectly). Without this forum this would never, ever have been possible. I have still never seen another teardrop camper in person.

I'm not another teardrop camper yet but your teardrop sure looks fine and compared to most everyone else you and I are neighbors. 25-30 miles down the road to Hastings is not far. If I see you going down the road I will let you know I saw you. The name "Pigeon Coup" is fitting. Best of Luck with the new camper. If you want to come to a nice campground on the St. Croix River. St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park is a very nice campground and generally not too crowded. I am about a mile from St. Croix Bluffs Regional Park. If you decide to make that one of your destinations be sure to email me I'll look you up.
